Trauma & Grief

Tragedy often strikes when we least expect it. In fact, there is no way to plan for the emotional wreckage that a tragedy can bring. The grieving is difficult, but there are ways to work through it and seek the authentic support of others along the way, from friends and family to therapists and support groups.

Grief and trauma will take a person on a journey that is intense and painful and unpredictable, and it is less of a problem to be fixed as it is more of a process to be lived out. Grief, and especially traumatic grief often leave people feeling confused about what is happening to them and wondering what to do next...and whether or not they can survive. Working with a professional is helpful because we act as sounding boards for your grief, as someone removed from the tragedy. I have an endless supply of empathy for your pain.

We grieve most things that come to an end “not on our terms,” whether it’s relationships, dreams, goals, or expectations. There is no “normal” way to grieve, but the goal is to accept that unless you allow yourself to grieve, it will always come back to haunt you. I am here to be a container for you during this process, and to encourage you to ride through the pain in a healthy way.
